Wedding Monica and Ole Kristian – Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort
Monica and Ole Kristian had their dream wedding at Hotel Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort, Spa & Casino, which is a very elegant and beautiful location for weddings. Monica and Ole Kristian is from Norway, but the family from the mother side of Monica, is from Gran Canaria. Guests were therefore both from Norway and from Gran Canaria gathered this day.
I was with the couple from morning to night, total 16 hours and this is one of the long lasting weddings I have photographed. When photographing weddings, it’s rare I sit down, relax or eat, as I work all the time. But it is certainly worth it when I was able to take the photos I love so much to take, such as preparation of the bride, photographs of jewelry and details, the image of the bride when she is ready, the window shots, I just love them. The photos of the couple after the ceremony, in front of the large pool, in the ”blue hour”, is also among my favorite love-to-take pictures. The time after sunset when the sky is very blue, is so incredibly short here in Gran Canaria, so it’s not so often that I get to take those pictures, but it did in this wedding.
On Gran Canaria, we have a small desert, Dunas de Maspalomas, and the couple wanted to take some pictures here as well as in the hotel surroundings. So we went there before the ceremony and took some shots there before we hurried back to the ceremony. Desert at midday in the sun, is also a challenge, with respect to the heat, light and the sand.
Monica and Ole Kristian also decided to take all the individual photos before we went to the desert and before the wedding ceremony in the hotel area, which was a bit challenging in terms of guests should not see the couple and the strong sunlight.
The ceremony was very beautiful and was held in the garden of the hotel just before sunset.
After the ceremony we took lots of group shots of family and friends from both Norway and Gran Canaria, before it was dinner and party time.
I want to thank you Monica and Ole Kristian for letting us be part of your big day. Exhausting, yes, but time is forgotten afterwards when there are so many wonderful memories of the day. Geir and I want to wish you all the best for the future.
