Wedding in Barcelona

Barcelona is a fantastic city. And very romantic. Tove and Tommy chose Barcelona for their wedding. They got married in the beautiful church Nostra Sra. del Rosario PP. Dominico, which is the church that “Sjømannskirken” use in Barcelona. Priest Jan Oddvar Skisland came from “Sjømannskirken” in Mallorca to do the ceremony.
Geir and I came from Gran Canaria to do the photograph work, and the couple and the guests came from Trøndelag in Norway.

We really enjoyed to be a part of this wedding. How lucky to be with these lovely people in wonderful Barcelona. Tove and I had a lot of contact in advance, it was no small logistical job who had to be put together to get it all to fall into place, regarding the traffic, flight schedules, ceremony, guests, party, time to do the bridal preparation etc. And good plan was very important.

It is not easy to get around in Barcelona’s bustling traffic, and to drive, not on a day like this. We chose to take the shoot before the ceremony, and we were therefore dependent to arrive at the church at the right time. I had chosen to find a park in Barcelona for the photo shoot, and the choice fell on a lovely park, where there also is a palace. This was the former residence of the Spanish royal family when they visited the city. Today there is a museum in the palace. Beautiful gardens surround the palace.

A big thanks to the bride and groom who had put much effort into planning and it went super all the way, they had arranged with a large van that took us all from the center of Barcelona and to the beautiful park we had chosen for the shooting. And as safely took us up to the church before the ceremony again. After the ceremony, Geir and I were in a little hurry, we had a flight to catch. In our car rental from Barcelona to the airport is normally 30 min., but there was heavy traffic and at times, we were not moving at all. But luckily we managed to be in time at the airport for our plane back to Gran Canaria.

It was a short and hectic stay for us, from one day to the other. But it was a wonderful experience to be part of Tove and Tommy wedding, and their lovely daughter Ronja, maid of honor Sylvia and best man Bjørn Ove who went a long with us during the photo shoot.
We had a great time with this gang, both with lots of humor and lots of emotions … And the ceremony was so incredibly moving too, there were many tears that felt. I still walk and sing at Åge Aleksandersens “Æ e så gla i dæ” which was played in the church during the ceremony.
Thank you so much, Tove and Tommy, that we could come to your wedding in Barcelona with you, it was an unforgettable experience. We wish you all the best for the future…

Enjoy!
